As Rajasthan prepares to host the fifth edition of the Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) in September 2025, a strategic stakeholder meet was convened in Udaipur and Kumbhalgarh to galvanize industry collaboration. Organized jointly by the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR) and the Department of Tourism, the event underscored the state's renewed push to position itself as a premier destination for leisure, weddings, cultural events, and MICE tourism. Industry leaders, royal representatives, and government officials voiced unified support for strengthening Rajasthan’s travel ecosystem through sustainable practices and cohesive vision.

Stakeholders Rally to Reinforce Rajasthan’s Tourism Vision

In the lead-up to RDTM 2025, scheduled to take place in Jaipur from September 12–14, tourism stakeholders gathered in a dual-location forum held at the iconic Udaipur City Palace and Mahua Bagh in Rajsamand district. The event, themed “Explore, Discover, Experience, and Meet in India,” aimed to align the state’s travel and hospitality sectors under a common agenda.

Attendees included leading hoteliers, travel operators, event organizers, and government representatives—each playing a critical role in the evolution of Rajasthan’s tourism landscape.

A Unified Industry for a Singular Mission

Addressing the assembly, Lakshyaraj Singh of Mewar, a prominent figure from the erstwhile royal family, emphasized the necessity for industry-wide unity to fully leverage Rajasthan’s potential as a global travel destination. He underscored the transformative role of RDTM as a collaborative platform, fostering partnerships and inspiring innovation across verticals such as heritage tourism, destination weddings, and cinematic productions.

“To truly reach our potential, we must come together as one industry and one mission. RDTM is that collaborative platform,” he stated.

Government Support for Tourism-Led Growth

Anand Tripathi, Additional Director of the Department of Tourism, reiterated the state’s commitment to advancing Rajasthan’s image as a comprehensive tourism hub. His remarks spotlighted ongoing government efforts to promote the state not only as a leisure destination but also as a nexus for weddings, cultural experiences, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism.

Tripathi also acknowledged the critical role of public-private partnerships in shaping Rajasthan’s tourism future, especially amid evolving traveler expectations and global competition.

Embracing Udaipur’s Tourism Momentum

FHTR Senior Vice President Surendra Singh Shahpura lauded Udaipur’s rising prominence as a key driver of tourism within the state. Known for its regal charm, lakeside serenity, and luxury hospitality, Udaipur has increasingly attracted attention as a destination for both domestic and international travelers.

Shahpura highlighted the opportunity for sustainable development and strategic planning to ensure long-term gains for the region, particularly in emerging segments like eco-tourism and cultural curation.

Looking Ahead to RDTM 2025

With just months to go before the flagship travel mart opens in Jaipur, the energy generated at the stakeholder meet is expected to catalyze renewed collaboration among tourism professionals. RDTM 2025 aims to showcase Rajasthan’s evolving identity—not merely as a historic marvel but as a vibrant, forward-thinking tourism powerhouse equipped for global engagement.

By integrating heritage with modern hospitality infrastructure and experiential travel, Rajasthan is setting a compelling precedent for other Indian states seeking to revitalize domestic tourism in the post-pandemic era.
