In a decisive move to scale its manufacturing operations and align with India’s industrial growth trajectory, Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation, through its Indian subsidiary Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems (India) Pvt. Ltd. (TTDI), has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana. The agreement outlines a Rs. 562 crore investment to expand production capacity at TTDI’s Hyderabad facility. The expansion will not only bolster domestic and export capabilities but is expected to create over 250 direct jobs.

In a strategic move poised to reshape India’s digital and industrial landscape, Telangana has secured landmark investments from Japan's NTT DATA, Neysa Networks, and Toshiba Transmission and Distribution Systems India (TTDI). A total outlay of over Rs. 11,000 crore has been pledged to develop an AI-focused data center cluster and to expand energy equipment manufacturing capabilities.

Aspen Biopharma Labs, based in Telangana, has come under scrutiny by the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for several critical lapses in its active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing facility. Following an inspection in September 2024, the USFDA issued a warning letter citing significant violations of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP). These lapses include inadequate facility design, failure to meet equipment validation standards, and failure to conduct proper stability testing of API products.

The Indian government has procured 525 lakh quintals of seed cotton under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme for the 2024-25 cotton season, ensuring financial stability for cotton farmers amidst fluctuating market prices. This initiative, managed by the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI), covers 38% of total cotton arrivals and 34% of the estimated national production. The program has benefitted 21 lakh farmers, disbursing Rs. 37,450 crore.
