Coromandel International has announced plans to set up a state-of-the-art research center at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, aimed at advancing agricultural innovations, sustainable crop solutions, and next-generation agrochemicals. The collaboration seeks to combine Coromandel’s industry expertise with IIT Madras’s academic research capabilities, fostering innovation in crop nutrition, precision agriculture, and environmentally responsible practices.

The Madras High Court has dismissed a batch of petitions seeking to prevent the National Testing Agency (NTA) from declaring the results of the NEET 2025 examination. The petitions were filed by several students who alleged that power outages at four exam centers in Chennai had hindered their performance. The court ruled that there was no merit in the case, emphasizing that allowing re-examinations based on trivial grounds could disrupt the fairness of the national examination process. This clears the way for the NTA to proceed with announcing the results.

In a landmark ruling, the Madras High Court recognized the legitimacy of family formation by same-sex couples, despite the absence of legal recognition for same-sex marriages in India. The court granted relief to a woman seeking the release of her 25-year-old partner, who had been forcibly detained by her birth family due to their relationship. Emphasizing that marriage is not the exclusive foundation of family, the bench cited constitutional protections of personal autonomy and dignity.
