India and Sri Lanka have taken a significant step forward in their bilateral relations, marking the first-ever defence cooperation pact between the two nations. This agreement, finalized on Saturday, underscores the growing interdependence between India and Sri Lanka, with both countries emphasizing the importance of shared security interests. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake highlighted the strategic nature of the pact, which includes agreements in defence, energy, and infrastructure.
