Air India cancelled three international flights on June 18, 2025, citing technical issues, regulatory crew limitations, and safety concerns. Two flights—one from Toronto and another from Dubai—were called off after passengers had already boarded, while a Delhi-Bali flight was forced to return mid-air due to volcanic activity. These disruptions come against the backdrop of enhanced scrutiny by India's aviation regulator following a fatal Boeing 787-8 crash on June 12.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has exposed a major customs duty evasion scheme involving luxury car importers, with an estimated duty evasion of over Rs. 25 crore. The scheme involved undervaluation of high-end vehicles, such as Rolls-Royce and Cadillac Escalade, by mis-declaring their import values. The vehicles were first transported to countries like Dubai and Sri Lanka for modifications before being brought into India under false pretenses.

Dubai-backed real estate developer Emaar India has announced a strategic investment of Rs. 400 crore in Lucknow, unveiling its first premium group housing project in the city. The high-rise development, titled Elite Oasis, marks the company’s foray into Uttar Pradesh’s capital, targeting the rising demand for luxury residential spaces. Situated in the fast-developing Gomti Nagar Extension, the project spans nearly three acres and comprises 194 upscale units, with pricing between Rs. 2.75 crore and Rs. 4.15 crore.

In a strategic move to enhance global trade connectivity, DP World has initiated the construction of Bharat Mart—a sprawling 2.7 million sq. ft. business marketplace in Dubai aimed at positioning Indian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) at the heart of global commerce. Slated for completion by the end of 2026, the facility is located within the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) and is designed to facilitate both B2B and B2C transactions.
